Valerie Hayes, The Pageant Coach™
My career as an expert pageant coach started out innocently enough. With 20 years experience as a Human Resources executive, I’ve seen a lot of bad interviews. Then a friend, who owned a pageant boutique, asked me to help a contestant who was struggling with her interview. She won two local titles and went on to capture her state Teen USA crown. Finally, she placed in the Top 15 at the national pageant. And all this happened in just nine months! Soon, her friends were calling asking me to help them prepare for their pageant too. Since then, I’ve achieved success in all the major pageant systems. I love working with contestants to help them make their pageant dreams come true!
You may have seen me on CNN where I’ve been featured as an expert pageant coach. I’ve also appeared on NBC, MTV, and ABC’s Good Morning, America and have been featured in People magazine. I’ve been interviewed by the Washington Post, the New York Times and been an author for pageant magazines. My pageant coaching business has been highlighted in two books as an example of how to start and run a successful business. I enjoy helping women of all ages to create success in their own lives!
Job interview skills, public speaking skills, and press conference strategies form the basis of the techniques that I teach. I also teach monolog skills to contestants delivering a personal introduction or memorized speech. I understand the preferred profile for a wide variety of pageant systems and have coached hundreds of winning contestants to the crown.
I’m a recognized expert on pageant paperwork, platform development, and creating an appearance plan. After creating a solid prep plan, I teach contestants how to develop their own unique interview answers. I do not teach contestants just to repeat memorized content. Once contestants have great content, I help them develop the speaking skills to confidently deliver their answers. With a reputation for excellence, I’m the pageant coach that other pageant coaches hire when they’re competing in a pageant.
My education includes a B.A. in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from the University of Minnesota. Which is a fancy way of saying I have a degree in helping people succeed using their talents and abilities. An in demand public speaker, I’ve received multiple Toastmasters awards. Receiving the Dale Carnegie Outstanding Speaker award was also a great honor. I love being a pageant coach because pageants teach valuable life skills.
As an expert pageant coach, I love how pageantry changes lives and makes dreams come true.
I look forward to helping you Achieve Your Titleholder Potential!
